Who says that being a photographer at NASCAR is the most fun a photographer will have? Being a part of the Photographers of Color (POC) by Brotha Love Productions, I was able to photograph NASCAR and eventually become an instructor for Photographer of Color workshop at NASCAR.

But the photo opportunities do not stop there outside of POC workshop at NASCAR Jasperz Productionz Designz (JPD) created and founded by Andréa Neal enjoys going out and capturing youth action sport shots. I remember as a kid athlete looking back at all the pictures and found there are no action pictures of when I was playing. All I have are poses with tennis rackets, basketballs and etc. but no action shots while I was playing.
JPD decided to do something about that, we are dedicated to capturing action shots of youth sports, not high school but grade school sports when they are just starting out to show off their talents. JPD is trying to work together with Photographers of Color to ensure the community is able to obtain such wonderful action pictures of their children while playing youth sports.

In a time when children need all the encouragement to make it in the world and to believe in themselves, capturing and showing them images of themselves while playing can be the biggest motivation their little souls need. Being a part of Photographers of Color workshop at NASCAR has opened and widened my horizon about sports photography and photography in general, it makes you want to give something back to the community, even if it is something as simple as an action photo.
